It's a great loss to all who knew him.

Open Source Content Management system: A new project out of beta.
An enterprise level content management system is in beta and freely available on the bernztech cvs for internal users. It's called "HYPE" and is the main part of the Hyperpoo site that will be launching soon. It allows users to post articles, data and just about anything and maintains archives and the like. It's similar to Slashcode in it's abilities, but it's written in VERY Object Oriented Java so that it's more scalable and not dependant on the presentation layer.
Bernztech users should use :pserver:username@alpha.bernztech.org:/cvs and module 'hype' to see the engine.
There will be a SourceForge page posted soon.

BernzTECH kicks selfish users off -May 1, 2000
Well, it finally happened. I told the users quite a bit that no remote hacking and exploit scanning is allowed unless you ask me. A few users decided to scan for exploits and even try them from this box. To prevent this from ever happening again, I decided to kill almost every account. My generosity is not to be taken for granted and the simple fact is that I and only I am completely responsible for these machines. The users wouldn't get in trouble for anything, I would. I had been warned by my ISP and to prevent any further bad news from them, I've made this decision. To see if I might restore your account, email me. Until then, go away.

BernzTECH.org is restored -January 13, 2000
Alpha.bernztech.org's harddrive failed massively last night. Since we have no tape backup (hey, it IS a freenet and I have to pay for it) we lost most of that machine. Join up again or drop us an Email to get that account back.

The good news is it gave me an unhindered opportunity to upgrade everything and go through the system with a fine tooth comb. Kernel 2.2.13-0.9 is cooking fine on that machine.

BernzTECH.net is now BernzTECH.org - October 29, 1999
Bernz has began phasing out of the use of bernztech.net. It will be called bernztech.org. www.bernztech.net will still work just fine though, at least for a long time. But all bernztech.net addresses should be bernztech.org now.

BSD Box Reinvented - September 21, 1999
Bernz has reinvented the BSD box. bsd.bernztech.org is open for all users who want an account. This box has become his primary workstation at home, and thus it's running X (KDE to be exact) but you can have an account if you wish. Just mail a username/pw to bernz@alpha.bernztech.org.

New Site Design - July 15, 1999
TechKnow Industries™ redesigned the site over the past few days, and it has now been posted here at BernzTECH. We hope you enjoy the new look, and find the site easy to navigate.

Update - January 12, 1998
Although we've been hacked several times, we've learned A LOT about protecting and compromising system security.

Success! - November 11, 1997
Our first publishable success! Our own little user, Icon, has played around with some "problems" that the Pentium chip seems to have. He seems to have uncovered some troubles that could inadvertedly or advertadly be used as a DOS attack. We will find a solution before we release all of the findings.
